Plaintiff sustained hearing loss and significant permanent brain injuries when his motorcycle collided with defendants car, which made a left turn in front of him. After a trial which lasted about two weeks, the jury rendered its special verdict finding defendant wholly at fault for the accident and determining the total amount of plaintiffs damages to be $1,557,400. Defendants motion for a new trial was denied. She appeals from the judgment. Her primary contention on appeal is that the repeated attempts of plaintiffs attorney to elicit an opinion on fault from the investigating officer, who was not a witness to the collision, constituted misconduct that deprived her of a fair trial.
